Someone doesn't look too happy do they! I was trying to see if the hat was going to fit so I could buy it! Guess he didn't like it.

First attempt to see Santa

I snapped this photo while we were waiting in line to see Santa. As you can see, Michael didn't seem to enthused!
Unfortunately we were not able to see Santa but we are headed back for another try tomorrow. Let's just hope that he doesn't want to take a nap right as we get to the front of the line. ( yup that's what happened to us Sunday).

I love this Beautiful Fall Weather

Family Weekend

Good morning! We had a wonderful and relaxing family weekend. Leon came home Friday night so I took Michael with me to pick him up from the airport. We had gone to find him so that we could surprise him but somehow he managed to sneak out another door! So much for the surprise...sigh.
Michael was absolutely ecstatic to see Leon! After some hugs and kisses from Daddy we left to come home.

Saturday we were able to sleep in ( a little) and got dressed to head out for a fun day of shopping. Mommy's favorite!
After a quick bite to eat we headed home, we were officially exhausted.

Sunday morning we went to a birthday party and had a really good breakfast. Michael even got to have a few slices of some fresh banana. One of his favorites.
After stuffing our faces, as mommy puts it we headed out for the mall. Again!
We thought we were only going to walk off our really big breakfast but Grandpa Reyes and Pauline came to meet us for a surprise!
Some new winter outfits for Michael. Thank you Grandpa Reyes, I love them! Mommy and Daddy said I am going to look handsome.

Hi Daddy... we miss you!

Michael and I were hanging out last night before bedtime. He was telling me what a great day he had at Granny's house and what a wonderful sitter Aunt Doris is! That he was a good boy and that he had eaten all his carrots and applesauce. Yummy!

I told him what a great day I had at work and how I couldn't wait for this semester to be over so I could spend a little extra time with him. While he was laying there listening attentively and playing with his feet I also mentioned that Daddy was coming home tomorrow and he let out the biggest smile.

We love you Daddy!

Good Morning!

These are some pics that I took of Michael the other morning! He wakes up in the greatest of moods. He loves to lay there and just talk and play with his feet. I love seeing him wake up in the morning because he is always so happy.

Michael's First Word!!

I am so excited! Michael has said his first word.
DA-DA! I must admit I had tears in my eyes when I heard him say it. I know it was very exciting for Leon as well. Fortunately Leon was able to hear it before he left on his business trip.

I never imagined it would be so exciting to hear Michael's first word but it truly was a monumental moment.
I can't wait to see what other words he will say next. Let's hope it's MA-MA!

Election Day...2008

What a historical day it was!

I got a couple of pics of Michael in his Future Democrat onesie. Grandpa Reyes and Pauline brought it back for him when they went to the Democratic National Convention in Colorado. Michael and I were up watching the election coverage together and I couldn't wait for the winner to be announced. I was telling Michael that this was the first year that I had voted with hope in my heart and having him right next to me was an added bonus!
What an exciting day. Yeah America!

Michael is 6 months old

Michael is now six months old. My handsome little man is growing so fast!! He is already 18.8 lbs and 27 inches long- all above average! The doctor said he is doing great. I can not believe how fast these last six months have just flown by. I remember the day I brought my little angel home from the hospital...7.7 lbs and 22 inches long. Not a day goes by that I don't look at him and smile, I love him so much!
Michael has such a bubbly personality and just loves to laugh and talk to people. Oh but boy does he have a little temper...you take away something that he was playing with or he can't grasp something in his reach, he throws a fit! Hmm...I wonder who he gets that from?!?

I think some of his most favorite things to do are...playing in his exersaucer, sitting up with his favorite toys ( keys), chewing on anything he can get his hands on, watching his Baby Einstein movies, and grabbing at Chloe and MJ's ears ( our little yorkies). Michael is very active and can now roll over from side to side and from belly to back. He has started to scoot, but still doesn't enjoy tummy time. He is very strong now and can hold himself up while on his tummy and can even stand up with assistance. He has gotten really good at sitting up on his own and it's the cutest thing ever to me!

We started solids and Michael loves to eat! He has tried bananas, peaches, applesauce, mixed fruit, pears, carrots, sweet potatoes and squash and he LOVES them all except carrots but who can blame him ( oops did I just say that)!

Happy Halloween.

So this past weekend we down to Waco to visit Grandpa and Grandma Jimenez. We hadn't been down in a little over a month so we were well due for a visit. We had a packed day ahead of us and our first stop was to eat lunch with Grandma Jimenez, then off to the mall we went. (Mommy was looking for some new winter clothes for me.)
Later that day we were able to take Michael to Boo at the Zoo and I think he had fun. For Michael's first Halloween he went dressed as a Lion. Oh what a cute lion he was! The zoo was packed with everything you could imagine...cute little butterfly's, scary little goblins and furry little animals. I personally think my little furry lion was the cutest.
We weren't able to spend the whole weekend in Waco so we are anxiously waiting to go back. Hopefully we will get to spend a little more quality time with the family.

Pumpkin Patch

We had a great weekend! We went to the arboretum Sunday to see all the beautiful flowers and pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun, a little on the hot side but fun. Michael was amazed with all of the people, screaming little kids, bright orange pumpkins and the bales of hay. Which he spent most of his time trying to eat!

We were able to take some great shots in the pumpkin patch of Michael but after about fifteen minutes he had enough! After thinking back it's kind of funny to think of all the funny faces, noises and extremes we had to go through to get him to smile. Usually he is such a happy camper but he wasn't having any of it Sunday. Overall it was a fun day and I look forward to going back...maybe for Christmas.

Michael's First Haircut

Saturday we took Michael to get his first hair cut. I guess I didn't really know what to expect but well...excitement and that I got! Daddy got to hold him while I was put to "entertain". I think I was more excited than Michael as I stood there calling out his name to try and get him to look at me for more than ten seconds so the hairdresser could cut his hair. I think I was more of a distraction! I don't know if I was more afraid of him crying, getting accidentally cut by the scissors or him getting a "bad" haircut but I was scared! AND then it all happened, I STARTED CRYING. At first I didn't know why or maybe I did but I didn't want to believe it. Either way I couldn't try and hide it anymore as tears are just streaming down my face! As I turn around to look at Michael it hits me, my baby is growing up. ( He just looked so handsome and well a little older with his new do) At this point all that's going through my head is...OH MY, if he's only going on six months I can't imagine the years of tears I'm about to endure.

Now that it was all done I could sigh a sigh of relief. No nicks,no tears ( except from mommy) and no bad haircut and he did great! Hopefully we won't be back at the barber shop any time soon. Oh and that's the picture I took right when we got outside.
